Alternative Education

The Story of Us

Is Community Court Yard’s alternative education and intervention programme, based at The Yard.

Our approach is based on a relational framework of Trust, Tackle, Transform.

This young person focused  programme aims to raise confidence, self-esteem, and aspiration.

The focus for this programme is students:

  •  who will be transitioning from primary to secondary
  •  reluctant learners or those who are in crisis, vulnerable,
  • or at risk of exclusion.

The Story of Us utilises a creative approach to programme content, focusing on gaming, crafting and storytelling as a strategy for reconnecting young people to positive learning techniques.

The team of qualified youth work and education professionals ensure that young people make good progress during their time in the programme.

In addition to the range of confidence and self-esteem building activities all work is underpinned with numeracy, literacy, and ICT, through our gaming suite, podcast studio and crafting space.

This bespoke programme is built on a 1:1 provision / Small group provision.
