A National Lottery Community Funded support programme for parents, grandparents, and carers of young people experiencing challenging behaviour or poor mental health.
Caring can be isolating. Many families are doing their best without the space, tools, or support they need.
This project creates that space.
Through weekly face-to-face workshops at The Yard, weekly online sessions, and one-to-one mentoring, carers are offered practical guidance, emotional support, and the chance to connect with others who understand what they’re going through. Sessions focus on building confidence, managing challenging behaviour, and strengthening relationships at home.
By supporting the adults around young people, we create calmer, more supportive home environments where young people feel understood and able to thrive. The impact doesn’t stop at the family door — stronger families help reduce pressure on schools, health services, and the wider community.
Together at The Yard builds on The Yard’s trusted, community-led approach and extends our work beyond young people to include the families who care for them every day.
